Some are a little more shy than others but here to kick start the series is the always positive, always reliable Adam Horrocks otherwise known as Coach Adam. Over to you Ads!
What's your favourite post run snack? A banana and some squeezy honey.
What is your most memorable run? Manchester 1/2 marathon on my 40th birthday. It was my 1st half marathon race and my brother had come back from New Zealand and we ran it together - he dipped on the line and beat me by 1 second
Who is your Run Hero? My Dad. He has run all of the family records pre ‘cheating shoes’ and any nutrition at all with 4 children (and an understanding wife!) He turned 80 yesterday and had cycled 80 miles in November – because he can!
What was your biggest run disaster? Any run when my nipples bleed
What is your favourite race of the year? Hebden 22. I love a race that starts and finishes in a scout hut or village hall - just feels wholesome – home-made cakes and pie and peas! What’s not to love!?!
What's your dream race? Probably a running a sub 3 hr marathon at a major, maybe Tokyo?
Tea or coffee? Coffee. Strong enough you can stand a spoon up in it!
Night owl or early bird? Neither ... Early night and a lie in!
Why did you get into running? I’ve always run on and off. I did a few XC races when I was younger with my Dad and then to support fitness for Muay Thai, boxing or Football. I stopped when the children were young and inevitably put a bit of timber on! After a few years off, I remember going out on a Friday night and running an all out 5k, it took me 33mins and I thought, ‘ I can’t be having that!’ I got in to triathlon and running then and the rest as they say is history!
